History of the Hare and Hounds
Will and Chantal welcome you to the Hare and Hounds in Leavenheath. The Hare was fully refurbished and reopened in November 2011 after being privately bought from Greene King. We then took over in June 2013 from Ted & Avril and now offer a range of high quality food and drink along with a friendly atmosphere.
Freehouse
The Hare and Hounds is now a freehouse making it a proper, traditional British pub. We have a large dog & family friendly beer garden to the rear of the pub and also welcome well behaved dogs, on leads, in the pub. We have a large, yet welcoming restaurant able to cater for those wanting a light bite to a hearty Sunday lunch for all the family. All our food is cooked from scratch and of the highest quality. We are just 20 minutes walking distance from Stoke by Nayland Golf Club, so if you are staying there do come and visit us!
Whats it like inside?
Alongside the main bar area there is a pool table and darts board with two open fires for those chilly British winters. We have a pool team which plays weekly during the season and they are always looking for new members, so please make yourself known if you fancy it!
We aim to source a wide and interesting selection of drinks from local and international producers and always have a great selection of cask ales available.
